Commercial - Clubhouse Renovation

This project was for the renovation and reconfiguration of existing clubhouse space to increase its capacity for tenant users.

HGD was selected as the Engineer of Record to prepare mechanical, electrical and structural engineering plans and specifications to add a new interior walking deck for storage and fitness use; add a new interior stairway for egress; provide new HVAC; add new lighting and additional provisions for power accommodations.

Commercial - Mix Use Day Care and Administrative Renovation and Conversion

This project was for the renovation and reconfiguration of space to accommodate expanded day care services and office space for the Bon Secours staff.

HGD was selected as the Engineer of Record to provide a facility assessment and to prepare mechanical, electrical and fire protection plans and specifications to upgrade the building’s HVAC system, increase the building’s energy efficiency, provide daylighting and occupancy lighting capability and expand the existing plumbing system to accommodate new children sized restrooms.

Commercial - The Camp Transformation Gym Tenant Fit Out

This project converted existing warehouse space to a fitness gym. The Camp franchise has more than 100 locations in the Mid- and West Coast regions and was recently named one of the top new franchise companies by Entrepreneur. The opening of The Camp in Alexandria, VA was the first gym of its kind to be located in the Northeast Region.

HGD was selected as the Designer of Record to prepare architectural and engineering plans and specifications to address and provide egress and floor plan layouts, HVAC upgrades with structural reinforcement, electrical upgrades, structural reinforcement, power requirements and fire protection compliance.

State Government (MD) - Poolhouse Renovation

This project was for the interior renovation of a 45-year old community bathhouse owned by the Town of Emmitsburg.

HGD was selected as the Designer of Record to provide a facility assessment and to prepare plans and specifications for modification of existing space to address ADA/ABA compliance for existing and new shower, toilets and changing stalls accessibility.

Commercial Tenant Fit Out - P & C Dollar Plus Conversion

This project was for the conversion of existing space (warm shell) to provide a tenant fit out for a franchise retail Dollar Plus Store.

HGD was selected as the Designer of Record to prepare architectural and engineering plans and specifications to provide egress and floor plan layouts and to ensure code compliance of existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems.

Federal Government - Office Renovation

This project was a Design-Build effort to provide interior space renovation for approximately 16,000-SF of space to accommodate a new tenant for the IRS Agile Collaborative Center.

HGD was selected as the Engineer of Record to provide an engineering survey and facility assessment report; and, to prepare mechanical and electrical engineering plans and specifications to provide collaborative work room space capabilities, new modular conference rooms, relocation of below grade power requirements, installation of access control system devices and modifications to the HVAC and plumbing systems to address code compliance.

The standard chunk of Lorem Ipsum used since the 1500s is reproduced below for those interested. Sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 from “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” by Cicero are also reproduced in their exact original form, accompanied by English versions from the 1914 translation by H. Rackham.

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..”, comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
